Root Canal?

I'm getting a root canal done tomorrow and I'm afraid that it's going to hurt. I don't want to be hurting all weekend so can anybody give me an idea of what it will feel like?

Root Canal?
if you are having one done by a specialist who knows what they are doing, it wont hurt at all. you will just be sore for a day or two near the injection site. you will be fine. I work for a root canal specialist,,and i do the follow up phone calls each day and 99% of patients say i fell 200% better, and oh i was surprized,i didnt feel anything!
Reply:I've had a few. They numb you up before they do this. It's actually removing any part of the tooth that is a lingering problem. It isn't that hard to have done once they get started. If you have to have a crown on after, they use a temporary one after they do the measuring for the permanent one by putting that stuff in your mouth to make an impression and then they have the lab make the crown . It doesn't take too long to get that one after and they cement this on to the root canaled tooth then to have it support what is left of the natural tooth after what work and cleaning out is done then. You should be fine. It's the natural fear of the unknown that bothers us usually. I felt that way before I had one done, now it's no big deal if one was needed.
Reply:Its not so much the pain but it takes forever
Reply:No more after effect than a filling, just a lot more work for the DR !! Doc W
Reply:Ive had one before and it wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. They numb you up so you dont really feel it. You may be a little sore afterwards but not too much. They gave me pain killers but I didnt need them, I was fine the next day.
