Tooth pain from failed root canal!?

i have a really little tooth, right next to my front top teeth, and it was deformed i guess. there was a messed up root, so i had to get a root canal. the tooth NEVER hurt one bit before they decided to do a root canal, and then like a month after my root canal it started hurting, and its been horrible pain for the past 2 months. they said the root canal failed, so i need to have a apicoectomy. im having it done in a few days. what im worried about is, why did i even need to get a root canal, cuz it never hurt, and now im in excruciating pain! i am so worried that this surgery im getting in a few days will be for nothing, or wont work..do you think the dentist made a mistake giving me a root canal..or would i have needed it eventually, even though it never bothered me before?? please help thank you!

Tooth pain from failed root canal!?
Go see another dentist! I went to a dentist who wanted to pull my tooth, and my second opinion dentist was able to save it by putting a crown on it. Good luck.
Reply:i wouldn't have had the work done if it didn't hurt. i am not sure dentists know what they are doing. drink whisky to relieve the pain
