Root Canal?

I've heard of it...but what exactly is a root canal?

In order to save a tooth with a deep cavity, the dentist will drill through the tooth and remove the root, then fill the cavity. Sometimes the tooth or part of the tooth is removed leaving a post where a crown is placed on the post so that it looks like the rest of your teeth without any gaps.

Its basically removing your nerve inside your tooth and replacing it with somethign that is called "Gutta Percha".
