Root canal revision or apicotomy?

My fifth tooth (counting from the front tooth) in my lower jaw had a root canal done 15 years ago, but x-rays shows that the root is not comletely filled and there is probably a chronic root iritation, although I do not have any pain or other problems with this tooth. My dentist advise is that I need root canal revision, but the other dentist says I have endodontic treatment again and apicotomy at the same time, as well.

Root canal revision or apicotomy?
You are describing a lower 2nd pre-molar. IF a root canal has failed, you need to go back to the dentist who did it, and ask him/her to do it again, and get it right this time.

Other dentist would obviously ask you to have a new root canal, because they want to charge you for a new treatment.

Good luck
Reply:as long as the tooth is symptomless (doesn't hurt you) then leave it alone many teeth like yours will just do fine.
