Root canal gone wrong?

I just had a root canal completed. I went to my general dentist to have it capped and she said that it would be very hard or impossible to cap the tooth. I'm in need of braces and right now half of the tooth I had the root canal done is gone. When I bite down I can't even get my tongue between my top and bottom teeth. Will I have a way to cap it? and if I can't and she says it needs to be pulled do I have the right to ask the doctor that did my root canal for my money back?

Root canal gone wrong?
There are no guarantees in dentistry. A root canal is to remove and inflamed nerve. That's all. And, I have never heard of an uncrownable tooth. Your dentist will do a post and buildup on that tooth and then crown it.

You are responsible for the condition of your teeth and your mouth on the whole. An endodontist can only treat what you have let become a problem.

consider any money you have spent on a root canal as a lesson learned, and if you don't then you have many more in your future.
Reply:I'm a dentist.

It sounds to me like there's more to the story than you are telling us.

In most cases, your doctor will not perform a root canal on a tooth that is too far broken-down to place a cap on it. Hence, it sounds to me like you had this root canal done a long time ago, and since then the tooth broke apart and became unrestorable.

If that is the case, it's your fault, not the doctor's. Furthermore, the tooth may need to be removed. Without examining you, I cannot tell.
