Root Canal?

I'm getting a root canal on Thursday and I was wondering what exactly happens and if I can be put under full anaesthesia or if they'll only do partial.

My reason for wanting the full is that I'm not very good at deal with the sound of the drill and complying with doctor orders.

Root Canal?
Honestly there is nothing to worry about.

Have you ever had a filling? it hurts less than a filling does.

I had to have root canal when i was 11(18now), every week for about 2-3 months.

I just had local/partial anesthesia with mine.

Or, if you have ever had a tooth pulled.. it doesnt hurt half as much as that.

If you are looking into different anaesthesia then i'd talk to your dentist, they could give you general if you demanded it, but it would need to be done in a dental hospital.
Reply:It's more like a big filling. Takes more time. I wouldn't worry about it. Relax!

I've had 2.
Reply:It's like a big filling but it takes alot longer. Be prepared for some tooth pain the next day or two.
Reply:I would ask the dentist for Valium before your appointment. That will really calm you down, but you will need to have someone drive you. As for the noise, take headphone and crank them up!!!
Reply:This is something to discuss with your dentist.
Reply:they suck so bad! But u cant feel the pain. They give you a lot of novacaine. If you can start feeling the pain screem! they will give you more. The novacaine is like a large pinch in your mouth just like a shot in your arm.

Relax. Don't worry
