Root canal?

i had 4 root canals dont today, is it normal to still be in pain? what do i expect for the visit to finish them next week?

Root canal?
Yes, it is very normal to have some pain after a root canal, especially 4 of them in one day (4 teeth?). Sounds like the procedure may not be completed yet since you go back next week. You may have had quite a bit of infection, and the medication in the canals needs to start working. Next week, the dressing in the canals will be changed out, and if no infection is present, the canals will be completely filled and a temporary filling will be placed. Eventually, you will need a crown to restore the tooth properly. Please call your dentist so they know you are having pain and that you have questions. Try to rest, too.
Reply:4 in one day? Whew - yes it isn't uncommon. Did they give you Tylenol-3, I hope?

The second visit won't be as bad as the first. Good luck!
Reply:You are my hero!! ...WOW. Yes you should be in pain still. Take some Advil and give it a couple of days.
Reply:I'd say yes it is normal. 4 - wow that's crazy! The worst part is over, drilling and scraping out the root is the worst. All that should be left is for them to remove the temporary fillinf and fill t up - should be a breeze.
Reply:of course you should still be in pain
Reply:owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwch
Reply:Yes, it's normal and you may have pain for awhile. Contrary to popular belief, a root canal does'nt always end tooth pain. If a tooth is cracked all the way to the bone, a root canal wont solve the problem. Only extracting the tooth will stop the pain. I just spent $2600.00 on one tooth with a crown and root canal and I'm still having some pain. I may have to have the tooth extracted, due to cracked tooth syndrome. I just wish someone could've spotted the problem before I spent all that money. They prescribed pain pills and antibiotics after my root canal. They'll probably put the posts in next visit- that's what helps anchor the crowns. Try not to let them do the crown prep when your mouth is all numb. You can't tell if your'e biting correctly when your mouth is numb and the mold for the crowns may not come out right abd you'll have a bad fit on your crowns. Been there, done that.
