Root canal revovery time?

How long is the recovery for root canal usually? please tell me less than one day!

Root canal revovery time?
It really depends on how good your dentist is. Hopefully you're going to a specialist. I hate to admit it but I've had 6 root canals done; a few by a dentist who was horrible...they took more than an hour to complete, and the rest by a specialist (I changed dentists) who could do it between 5-10 minutes. No kidding. The specialist's root canals weren't bad at all. I was sore for the day but fine the next morning. My first dentist? Horrible They hurt for a good week. It doesn't impair your ability to talk, it just aches in your cheek where you get the shots to numb your mouth. The numbness lasts for a few hours afterwards and you might just want to take a nap following the proceudre. It's good to rest just to get through the shock of it.

Again, if you have a specialist doing it, you'll be fine. I would alert your teacher that you're having it done; maybe she'll give you a break.
Reply:bout 1-2 weeks
Reply:it will still be uncomfortable but you will be able to do it. i'm sure your teacher will understand your physical condition.
Reply:I dont know but my dad has them done without novacaine so they cant be that terrible normally I would say probaly bout a day but I would talk to your dentist and or teacher and figure out if you can do it or not
Reply:about 2 weeks. 1st week is uncomfortable
Reply:less than one day.........sorry hunny about 1 week or more in most cases. depends on how your body takes it.
Reply:I had a root canal done and never felt any pain before or after..You should have no problem if your dentist is good.
Reply:Its no big deal anymore, its just like a normal visit. You wont feel a thing.
Reply:Depends upon person to person, but on an average it takes 3 days to recover.
Reply:basically people dont know enless there a doctor or they've had it done or they're a genious and know it.but i am none of those. So i suggest that you ask the doctor for a possitive answer and dont get the wrong answer from someone on here that think they know.Just call your doctor and ask.Its that simple. He or she is the doctor and should know cause what the heck did they go to that college for to not learn anything huh?so ask girl thats the way to get the right answer and know it for sure!!! hope everything goes well! buh bye
Reply:Depends a lot on the person and how extensive the root damage was done. Most important - tell your doctor. Discomfort will last several days, but I've given important talks to an international audience when I had a pretty severe cold - I got on, did my talk, suffered, then went and rested.

If your talk is ready then your root canal should not affect your speaking the next day. Tell your teacher that you have an unavoidable root canal on Thursday - can you do your talk on Wednesday or some other day?

Root canal is likely done in the morning at the doctor's office, so you'll have more than 24 hours, I was pretty good after mine but you could be different. Involve your dentist/doctor and your teacher in your decision and both will understand and give good advice.
Reply:the anesthetic should wear off in a few hours so u should be ok. however when i had the injection 8months ago she went through a nerve and i still have no feeling on the left side of my jaw
Reply:You are in luck. The time it takes to recover from a root canal is about six hours, and the only reason for that is because it takes that long for the novacaine to wear off.

Up until the mid 90's, a root canal was extremely unpleasant and could be rather painful, but because of advancements in dentistry, most root canals are fairly quick and painless now.
Reply:I worked with an endodontist's office for over a year and a half. Most patients had the same concern as you.

You'll be fine for your speech on Friday.

Take some advil beforehand and don't bite down on that tooth for a couple of weeks. Let it heal.

Many patients stated that it was easier than getting a filling, (just alot more expensive).
Reply:I had one on fri. I left the dentist and went to work for the rest of the day. My husband had one a few years ago day before thanksgiving on his front tooth went to work after and ate like normal the next day!

Mine was an emergency one to, I woke up with a balloon size face. It had abscessed so I looked funny all weekend! But that was it.
Reply:when i got a root canal for the first time, it only hurt for a few hours after. however, the next couple of days it was just sore, and i had to be careful when i ate. i could talk fine though. it won't be bad.
