Post Root Canal Pain?

I had a root canal done 3 weeks ago and just got my crown last week. I had zero pain during the two weeks after my root canal, but after I got my crown in I've been getting that same throbbing pain that I had after eating sweets before I got my root canal procedure. Is this normal??

No and from my experience with root canals, something didn't go right with it. Because you weren't really bitting on the temporary, but now with the crown. You need to call your dentist back who did the work and tell them to check it again.
Reply:OK, NOW THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. WHEN YOU HAD THE TEMPORARY, WHILE WAITING FOR THE PERMANENT, THE BITE ON THE TEMP WAS ADJUSTED THROUGH CHEWING THAT IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE.


WHEN THE PERMANENT CROWN WAS PLACED, BITING ON IT COULD NO LONGER ADJUST ANY BITE DISCREPANCY.


BUT THE NERVE WAS TAKEN OUT, WHY THE PAIN NOW?


THE BONE THAT SURROUNDS THE TEETH HAS SMALL NERVE ENDINGS THROUGHOUT. ANY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE WILL GIVE YOU PAIN WHEN YOU BITE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE NERVE IS GONE.


YOUR BITE MUST BE ADJUSTED WITH THIS CROWN.


REMEMBER YOU MAY NOT FEEL A BITE THAT'S TOO HIGH BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO NERVE THERE. HAVE YOUR DENTIST ADJUST THE BITE.
Reply:No its not normal, a tooth treated by root canal is dead not vital. If the crown is causing pain when biting down maybe the crown is too high and needs to be adjusted on the occlusal.surface. Or there was trauma to the periodontal legamint in which case after the adjustment you sholud be much better.
