Root canal / money issue?

im 16 and i've a cavitity on one of my back teeth for almost a year now. the last couple months it got bad and it was like a giant hole but it didnt hurt. so finally i told my mom i was really worried so she took me to the dentist. they then sent me to a root canal specialist. so we had all these dates set for me to get a root canal (this was in like february) the only problem was we had to wait to see if my parents insurance covered it. well they did, but only half of it. so my mom has to pay $480 up front on the first appt. then she has like $300 more to pay. its sad but my mom works 2 jobs and theres 3 kids in my family and money is just a REALLY big struggle right now. so i sed i would wait a while until she got some extra money on her. well just yesterday the tooth BROKE! so now im missing part of it and its bigger and grosser...money is tight right now so i cant really have it fixed yet.. does anyone know anything i could do? i really need some help : /

Root canal / money issue?
I am so sorry. Medical/dental is very expensive. There is only to ways to sstop the pain, #1 have the root canal done, #2 get it pulled. the tooth breaking can mean the tooth has gone too far, and now will probably mean it will need well it will need a crown at least 1,000 dollars. There is nothing you can do on your own. I am sorry ask your dentist if they have Care Credit, it is a great way to make payments at a low pace. .Good Luck
Reply:omg, if your tooth hurts and you're poor, get it fixed quick because you may not need a root canal as they simply just fill your tooth for a much cheaper price

ya, root canal is expensive and neccesary if you're really hurting...this can't be waited

please go get it fixed and ask if there is any discount for students

by the way, try going to an all chinese dentist as they usually have cheaper prices for the root canal

try to get a part time job to help your mom out
