Root canal and gutta pereka?
Root canal treatment or gutta peruka is one of the most expensive dental procedures. It is usually done in two or 3 stages. The whole aim is to preserve a tooth that has decay by clearing the infection in the base, pulp the cavity and root of the tooth. The alternative is to yank out the tooth.
. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.
Reply:The filling material used in case of root canal therapy is GUTTA PERCHA. It is the standard filling material used worldwide to fill the root canals. It is a permanent filling material in the shape of a thin long cone. It seals the root canal to prevent reinfection in that tooth.
About the shaky tooth, it may be a subjective feeling or it may actually be shaking. Subjective because when u hold the tooth between two fingers and try to move it sideways, its the fingers that would be pressed that gives the feeling that the tooth is shaking. Get it checked with your dentist. At times, in case of a moderate to severe infection the tooth may become slightly loose. But not to worry, after the root canal treatment and gum therapy if needed, the tooth will become strong again.
