Root Canal Recovery?

I Have My Sweet Sixteen on May 19th. I am scheduled for the second part of my root canal to be done on the 16th. My boyfriend is comming home from Military School for my party. I havent seen him for a few months now and I dont want him to see me in pain. Will my tooth hurt 3 days after they do the second part of the process? How long are you in pain after the root canal?

Root Canal Recovery?
I had a root canal 4 days ago. I also had one 13 years ago on a different tooth. Neither one caused me any pain during the procedure and no pain at all after the procedure. I have had fillings that were way more painful than the root canal procedure. I had antibiotics which prevent any infection of an area that may already be infected. Do not worry, I am almost 60 years old and I can tell you root canals get a bum rap as far as being painful - they are not.
Reply:For about a week and you are not going to feel very good by then either. And more than likely your face will still be swollen.
Reply:Take Advil or Aleve and the pain will go away.
Reply:You'll probably be okay be the 19th. You are young and young people tend to bounce back pretty quickly. The dentist will probably give you some pain meds. Do yourself a favor and take them, especially for the first 24 hours. The less pain you have to feel early on, the faster you will fell better.

Happy Sweet 16!
Reply:egyptian denist.some times there is no pain at all .in the most cases after 3 days there will be no pain or only an affordable light pain that will respond good to analgisics .but to be clear some times even with successful root canal the tooth still ach for a week or 10 days
