Ok so about a year ago my dentist told me i needed a root canal. I was 18. I knew he was lying because he wanted my money. So, i decided to go to another denist and he said that i DIDN'T need one so he fixed the cavity.
Later i went back to my first dentist cuz i was still having problems with that one tooth and he told me "nevermind..you do not need a root canal after all"
but i have this pain. It is not a cavity on the tooh. It is around it. On my left side at the top. It is like the 5th tooth from the first.
Between the gums. So from the 4th and 5th too gums and the 5th and 6th tooth gums. (so on both sides of the 5th tooth)
It seems to be black and i am flossing. I keep telling them about it but they just say that it is inflamed.
Do i need a root canal??
or does this have nothing to do with one?? =[ PLZ HELP.
it is sensitive. not my tooth but if i chew gum and stuff the gums would hurt there.
Root canal? Do i need one? Plz help!!?
The tooth is dying, when the dentist filled it he probably took the pulp off the root, and then filled it. This will eventually cause the tooth to die, the gum around it will start going black. The tooth will need to be removed once it gets to that stage. There is no point doing root cacal at that point. If it s a back molar just have it extracted and be done with it. But it will need to come out eventually. If its a front tooth that can be seen, you can have root canal to try to save it but it might not work cs it could be too far gone already. Go to a whole new dentist.
Reply:yes you do
Reply:I dont know dude...my advice is to sit down and talk to your dentist
Reply:I think the best person that can tell you what's best for your teeth would be a dentist, i recommend you seeing one especially if you are experiencing pain. Please see a health professional and don't guess with your health.
Reply:Sounds like the root is infected. Has the dentist prescribed an antibiotic for it or taken a new x-ray of it? Sounds like the tooth is dying.
Reply:it seems [its not a diagnosis ] ur root is infected n it has caused an abcess below it...u definiteli need a rct... u shud hv done it wen he had told u first itself... guess now it has spread further deep inside... consult ur dentist for an immediate treatment... otherwise the infection wud spread further...
